EYEBROW TAIL LIFT
EYEBROW TAIL LIFT
The eyebrows, like other areas of the face, gradually droop as part of the normal aging process, changing their normal appearance and position.
Women gradually lose the arched shape that makes them attractive, and become more horizontal and, in severe cases, even sloping underneath.
Dr. Perez believes that it is of great importance to restore the shape and appearance of the eyebrows when considering facial rejuvenation. During his years of experience, he has seen certain characteristics that make the eyebrows more attractive and therefore he has integrated them into his surgical technique.
This is how he highlights that, with some traditional techniques that raise the eyebrows in their entirety, especially when suspending them from the central region of the forehead, unnatural appearances are obtained which result in a look of astonishment.

DETAILS OF DR. PEREZ'S TECHNIQUE
Dr. Perez believes that it is more appropriate and more aesthetically beautiful, to perform an elevation and suspension of the tail of the eyebrows, thus offering certain advantages such as:
- Harmonizing the position and shape of the eyebrows, so that the tail of the eyebrows is higher than the head of the eyebrow.
- Reducing the excess skin that has accumulated in the upper eyelids.
- It improves the expression lines of the crow's feet in an effective and lasting way.
Dr. Perez performs this technique by making a short incision in the area of the temples within the scalp, ensuring that it is completely camouflaged within the scalp. This incision is used to detach and then suspend and attach the lateral region of the eyebrows with sutures.
In cases, where the drooping of the eyebrows is mild, Dr. Perez uses the internal brow lift technique, which is accomplished through the same incision, which is used for the upper eyelid surgery.

ANESTHESIA
The tail eyebrow lift procedure is usually performed simultaneously with Blepharoplasty, which is why local anesthesia and sedation are used.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER SURGERY?
Mild swelling involving the temple area is normal.
Since the incision is closed with absorbable sutures, no stitches need to be removed. In some cases, and as a result of the swelling, the tail of the eyebrows may appear a little higher than normal, which will disappear completely in a matter of days.

POSTOPERATIVE RECOMMENDATIONS
- We recommend maintaining a semi-sitting position at 30 degrees, in order to facilitate better drainage of inflammation.
- Cleaning the wound with hydrogen peroxide is ideal, in order to avoid the appearance of scabs which may adhere to the hair.
EYEBROW TAIL LIFT CANDIDATES
- Patients who have eyebrow that have dropped and lost the normal shape and position.
- Patients who seek Blepharoplasty, and during their assessment, Dr. Perez recommends an eyebrow tail lift at the same time, in order to achieve a better definition of the upper eyelids.
- Patients who have deep expression lines in the crow’s feet area.
CAN THE PROCEDURE BE PERFORMED IF BOTOX HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY APPLIED?
It is possible, even if Botox has been applied previously, the muscles are more relaxed and therefore easier to work with.
