Dr. Perez completed his undergraduate studies in medicine at the Universidad del Rosario in Bogota. His tireless interest in plastic surgery was awakened at the San Jose Hospital, where he attended several facial reconstruction procedures as a student. Upon completion of his medical studies, he had the honor of being selected to enter the prestigious plastic surgery center of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogota for postgraduate studies.This is where he was able to train as an integral plastic surgeon in both the reconstructive and aesthetic surgery areas. After completing his training in renowned hospitals such as the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Bogota, the National Cancer Institute and the Misericordia Hospital, among others, he was honored to be chosen as Chief Resident of the plastic surgery service for his academic merits and surgical performance. After finishing his postgraduate studies, he moved to the United States to pursue an Observer Fellowship in Facial Cosmetic Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago and at the Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital in New York.
On returning to Colombia, he served as head of the plastic surgery service at the Federico Lleras Acosta Hospital in the city of Ibagué for 3 years.
His private practice has evolved over the last 26 years in the city of Bogota, maintaining a permanent desire to achieve innovation and updating in the latest technologies and surgical techniques, which has led him to visit important plastic surgery centers in various parts of the world, sharing and developing many of his ideas with leading plastic surgeons.
