LIPOSUCTION
LIPOSUCTION
Many of the patients who see Dr. Perez have gone to gyms, have undergone diets or several others aesthetic treatments, without having achieved a significant improvement in the shape of their body.
There are currently several types of liposuction procedures available, which vary according to the type of technology used to remove body fat.
LASER Technique
- This technique uses the same principles as the VASER technique, but unlike it, the disintegration of the fat is produced by LASER light waves.
Traditional Tumescent Technique
- It is the most widely used procedure and consists of infiltrating a liquid solution into the deposits, which makes their removal easier and reduces bleeding during surgery.
VASER Technique
- This technique uses ultrasound waves, which allow the fat to disintegrate from a solid to a liquid state. This allows for easier fat removal, especially in patients who have already undergone previous liposuction procedures, and in whom there is a certain degree of tissue fibrosis.
DETAILS OF DR. PEREZ’S TECHNIQUE
- Once Dr. Perez has assessed each individual case, he makes the decision as to which procedure is the most suitable.
- The fat is extracted by means of 3-to-4-millimeter cannulas, which allow a better molding of the shape of the body.
- The incisions are very small and located in hardly visible areas, so that they are barely noticeable in the postoperative period.
- Patient safety during surgery, and the avoidance of postoperative complications, is a priority for Dr. Perez. That is why the amount of fat removed during the procedure is specifically determined for each patient, and is in accordance to the safety protocols of the American Association of Plastic Surgery.
HIGH DEFINITION LIPOSCULPTURE
Dr. Perez performs this technique in a high percentage of his patients, since he achieves excellent results with the natural look that distinguishes his procedures.
OUR EXCELLENT RESULTS
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts between 2 to 3 hours.
Rest: Light physical activity is recommended during the first 3 days, but avoiding strenuous exercise. It is very important to initiate early movement as of the day after surgery.
Compression Garments: We recommend the permanent use of the compression garment, both in the daytime and at night. As a general rule, it should be worn for at least a month and a half.
Depending on the level of postoperative swelling that the patient may have, Dr. Perez determines if therapies are necessary. But considering that his technique is performed with thin cannulas, the inflammatory process is minimal, and therefore many of his patients do not require such therapies.
It is worth mentioning that good results obtained with a body contouring surgery, are ideally part of an overall procedure that includes a balanced diet and regular exercise. If this is not understood in the mid-term, it is very possible that fat deposits will reappear in different areas of the body.
